Miss Spur is In The Know

Hi guys,

Mabbs has been pestering me to post on his blog for ages now and I have finally given in. My name is Miss Spur and lets just say I work closely with the club. I was passing on bits of news last year, some good and some bad but all genuinely what had been passed onto myself. Please don’t take it all as gospel.

Anyway, here’s a couple of recent stories doing the rounds.

The manager wants his old side relegated so he can bring in both Peter Crouch and Niko Kranjcar with the minimum of fuss. Both players are a priority in the summer. Kranjcar could be bought in to replace Luka Modric if the club is unable to fight off some big bids from both Spanish and Italian sides. The manager rates Modric very highly but the sums being talked about would be enough to finance both of the Portsmouth deals.

Until next time.

  1. Interesting post. I thought Kranjcar was Real Madrid bound though, I can’t seem him fancying Spurs if they are after his signature. Maybe the link up with Harry would appeal to him more though.

  2. Modric’s on a long contract, we won’t have to sell him this season even if the bids are ridiculous, he’ll probably be worth more next year. In any case he’s much more valuable to us than Kranjcar. I can understand why we’d go for Crouch and he should link up well with Defoe, but he’ll be expensive as an English international and I really don’t know what we’ll do about Keano then, whom Harry also seems to rate. Sell Bent to fund Crouch’s or some other striker’s transfer, but don’t let go of Modric.

  3. Kranjcar as a replacement for Luka Modric? What a joke! Kranjcar is overated and not anywhere near the standard of someone like Modric.

However, I do like the sound of Peter Crouch joining in the summer and I would be in favour of this move should it go ahead.

Crouch would be a MUCH better signing than another overated striker we’re also being linked with – Kenwyne Jones.

In the summer, I hope Harry goes for Crouch, Joe Cole, Gabriel Heinze or Nicolas Burdisso and also an experienced central defender to cover for Ledley King.

  4. Interesting Ms Spur!

I think that Crouch is the wrong buy. We sold the geezer for £50k to QPR about 6 years ago! I reckon we go for Kenyon, he has pace, is great in the air and shows more potential than Robot boy. As far as Kranjcar goes, he is a very technical player and has some great moments, but for me I think we need a box to box player who has the stamina to get involved up front. Watching Hud, JJ and Zok on Sat and none of them busted a gut to get in the box when we attacked, its so obvious!

  5. Fair point hod each to their own. I love women in football though as i try to look down thier arse cracks during the game and brush past their breast barging past them.

  6. hodisgod what century do you come from. That is disgusting and i hope the site administrator removes your comment because it makes me sick you racist p***k.

Interesting rumours but that is all they are. They dont surprise me in the least and are the sorts of buys we need. At least Harry is thinking along the right lines. PLEASE DONT SELL MODRIC THOUGH!
