When I suggested Tottenham had an outside chance of securing European football next season through our league position, I was laughed at and only had Glenn Hoddle for support. With three games to go, we only one point away from a spot in next season’s Europa League.
I’d expect us to beat Man City at home in two weeks time but either side of that match are games at both the Premiership teams from Merseyside.
First up are Everton. David Moyes has again worked wonders with little resources this season and they have an FA Cup final to look forward to. Their recent results suggest they are still very much focused on the league but we can only hope that game begins to play on some of the minds of the first team. It will be a tough match but Everton have lost 5 at home this season and I think it’s a game we can win but a draw is probably the most likely result.
As far as Liverpool are concerned, Spurs seem to be their bogey side in recent times. We ended their unbeaten record in the Premier League and then took apart a weakened side in the Carling Cup. They are yet to taste defeat at Anfield in the league this season but maybe Tottenham can continue the trend of recent games against them and inflict their first home defeat. Realistically though, I think a draw is again the best we can hope for.
Five points from the final 3 games might not be enough and I think we will need to win one of the away fixtures assuming we beat Man City that is.
yes and may i add it should have been 6/nil to us at white hart lane. you won,t win at anfield unless we have nothink to play for. you were lucky once , not again . bogey team thats a laugh whens the last time you won at anfield? oh its only this season you have had any result agaist us. your not even londons top team or second thats chelsea, then arse. spurs at best are a top6 side. dream on pal..
predicting 7th right now is more exciting than any part of the league – including relegation. A couple weeks ago we were 6 points away from 7th and Wigan looked a better bet. Now, who knows. I also think we can beat Everton but Man City might be tough – depending on their mood.
I think we will beat City, draw with Everton and loose at Anfield…
Think we have to hope West Ham slip up now.
6 pts from 9 will claim 7th / 5 pts from 9 will see Fulham pip Spurs on goal difference
I think Fulham will pip everyone to it unless they slip up in one of their home games then I think we will have a chance. A slim chance but a chance. But you never know in football and until its impossible I will back the team like crazy to make it!!!!
redman, Calm down! That defeat at the Lane really did touch a nerve didn’t it? It’s a shame coz I would rather you lot won the league than the Mancs. It will be difficult to get a result at Anfield but like you said, if you’ve nothing to play for, there is always a chance.
They have nothing to play for already. The Mancs have the league sewn up. Dream on scouse boy. But i have to say, i would also like to see them win the league as i hate Fergie. And hate the fact that 99% of refs shit themselves when it comes to giving decisions against them at OT and they get so many dodgy ones in their favour. Oh and can’t stand Ronaldo.
