Can Spurs Compete in All Four Competitions

Can Spurs Compete in All Four Competitions

September 10, 2018 By mabbs Leave a Comment

After an explosive start to the 2018/19 campaign, Tottenham are showing continuity throughout their team. They may have lost their opening match by a single goal, but this poor result seemed to motivate the team into an excellent run of form. Critics questioned whether they could handle the pressure of competing for four trophies without adding to their current squad list. During the summer months the board decided not to sign any new players and pundits are questioning whether their squad has the depth to challenge on all fronts. The other top six teams spent fairly big during the transfer window, leaving questions over Tottenham’s ambitions. The squad now looks extremely settled and are playing for each other, galvanising the whole club from the top to the bottom.

“The lack of new faces at Spurs was a shock to a lot of television pundits, but now the decision has started to pay off. A good example of this has been Lucus Moura picking up August’s Premier League player of the month award, after his stellar performance against Manchester United at Old Trafford.!” Spurs Fans from Bookmakers.tv

Obviously, it is early days and the real tests are still to come in the Champions League and as the season progresses. Experts say that players who contributed to the World Cup tend to show tiredness in October, especially if they got far in the competition. This must be a concern for the manager and he must be tactful in team selection during this time, to avoid key players burning out too quickly. Relying on just one main striker in Harry Kane might come back to haunt them, with club doctors monitoring his every move to avoid any injuries. A winter break has been debated and will be implemented in the 2019/20 season, this must be great news for the top Premier League outfits.

There is a lot of change currently at Tottenham Hotspur, with a new stadium in the pipeline, which could be one of the best in the world when completed. It feels like they just need to ride out the storm in regards to not playing at their home ground, as there are bright days coming soon. It looks like they’re building for the future, with a state of the art stadium and a core of English players, things are really looking positive. The latest news from today suggests Dele Ali might have picked up an injury during England training. This is a massive year for the young player, who feels he under performed during England’s World Cup campaign. This must be detrimental to his confidence but his quality will show in the long run.
